CHILD ABUSED AT BASEBALL GAME

IT IS PAINFUL TO WATCH THIS STUPID AND EVIL WOMAN, STEAL A BASEBALL FROM
A CHILD AND PRETEND THAT SHE HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG.
I HOPE THE VIEW OF HER FRIENDS WAS BLOCKED AND THEY DID NOT SEE
WHAT AN EVIL B*TCH SHE REALLY IS.

I HAVE TO THINK THAT GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY AND I WOULD NOT

KING JAMES DETHRONED

THE 2011 MIAMI HEAT HAVE DONE A GREAT SERVICE TO THE YOUTH OF AMERICA.

MANY CHILDREN AND CHILDLIKE GROWN FOLKS, SUCH AS LEBRON JAMES, HAVE MADE THE MISTAKE OF THINKING THE CELEBRATION PRECEDES THE DOING OF THE DEED - THIS IS INCORRECT:

**THE GRADUATION DOES NOT COME BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF CLASSES

**THE RECEPTION DOES NOT COME BEFORE THE WEDDING

**THE PENSION DOES NOT COME BEFORE A HISTORY OF FAITHFUL SERVICE

**THE ARRIVAL DOES NOT COME BEFORE THE DEPARTURE

**THE CHAMPIONSHIP PARTY SHOULD NOT BE ANNOUNCED AND HELD BEFORE THE ACTUAL SEASON OF COMPETITION HAS BEGUN

** THE PREDICTION OF EARNING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES
IS BEST MADE AFTER THE WINNING OF THE FIRST TROPHY

IT IS ALSO APPROPRIATE TO RESERVE MUSCLE FLEXING, YELLING LIKE A VICTORIOUS
GLADIATOR AND NODDING TO THE CROWD
AS IF YOU JUST DISCOVERED E = mc2 UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTUAL DONE
SOMETHING WORTHY OF RECOGNITION.

I ENJOYED THIS N.B.A. SEASON BECAUSE IT REASSURED ME THAT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN EVENTS DO WORK OUT FOR THE BEST.

WATCHING THE FRONT RUNNING, SHOW-BOATING, SELF-TITLED, KING JAMES,
CHOKING ON HIS OWN BLOOD, WHEN THE TALENTS
HE TRANSPORTED TO MIAMI FAILED TO IMPRESS THE DALLAS MAVERICKS
AND ABOUT 50+ MILLION TELEVISION VIEWERS; I WAS
ENCOURAGED TO SEE THAT JUSTICE IS SOMETIMES PROPERLY SERVED, AS
DEMONSTRATED BY THE TEXANS VICTORY IN JUST SIX GAMES.

ONCE THE RECENTLY DEPOSED KING HAS TIME TO REORGANIZE HIS APPROACH
TO THE PERFORMANCE OF A TASK, SO THAT THE WORK
IS DONE BEFORE THE REST PERIOD BEGINS, HE MIGHT MEET WITH GREATER SUCCESS IN HIS JOB, WHICH HAS ANNUALLY ENDED IN FAILURE FOR THE TEAMS HE MISREPRESENTS -
AT AN OUTRAGEOUS SALARY.

I THINK IT IS FAIR TO CONCLUDE THAT THE FORMER KING, IS ACTUAL BETTER
SUITED TO BE A COURT JESTER.

EDDIE "THE CZAR" SIMMONS

I HAVE TO PLEAD IGNORANCE TO THE GREAT PLAY OF
"THE CZAR" -- I ONLY SAW HIM PLAY A FEW TIMES AND
I DID NOT APPRECIATE WHAT I WAS SEEING; BUT
I HAVE TO TAKE THE WORD OF SO MANY FOLKS THAT
I RESPECT AND THEIR WORDS ARE NOTHING BUT
PRAISE FOR MISTER SIMMONS AND THE MAGIC HE
WORKED ON A BASKETBALL COURT.
HIS EFFORTS TO HELP OTHERS AND GIVE BACK TO THE
YOUNGER GENERATION RATES HIGHER THAN ANYTHING, ANYONE DOES ON A BASKETBALL COURT.

ROGER BROWN DOCUMENTARY - 2011

Ted Green, a documentary producer in Indianapolis, is starting on a project about our very own Roger Brown, WINGATE HIGH, Class of 1960.
If anyone has any of the following materials and would be willing to share them to help get Roger's amazing story finally told, Ted would be greatly appreciative.
Items such as:
-- A tape of the WPIX-televised game between Wingate and Erasmus on Feb. 6, 1960. It was covered by the great Marty Glickman and Sid Obeck.
Photos would also be great.
Ticket stubs, posters, articles, or anything else related to the March 15, 1960,
PSAL semifinal between undefeated contenders:
Wingate ( Roger, Neil Feuerstein, Martell Wynn, Jimmy Miller, Steve Shacher )
and
Boys High ( Connie Hawkins, Walt Davis, Wylie Briggs, Tom Kurowski, Freddy Jones).
Any 1950s-60s-era photos -- with or without Roger -- from the gyms and playgrounds he frequented:
Kingston Park
Riis Beach Park
St. John's Rec Center
Brownsville Boys Club
Betsy Head
Any other photos, articles, etc., from Roger's early years in BROOKLYN .

ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY LEGENDS

Solly Walker, 1951-54
The first African-American player to wear a St. John's uniform, Walker's freshman season ended with a trip to the NCAA title game under coach Frank McGuire. He led his squad in scoring (14.0 points per game) and rebounding (12.2 boards per game) as a senior in 1953-54, one year after helping the Redmen to an appearance in the 1953 NIT championship contest.

****
Mel Davis, 1970-72 One of the all-time great scorers (1,130 points, 34th) and rebounders (845, seventh) in school history, Davis made his mark in only two seasons, averaging 20.9 points per game and 15.6 rebounds for his career. He grabbed 26 rebounds in a game against Seton Hall in 1971, which still stands as a Carnesecca Arena record.
****
Lloyd "Sonny" Dove, 1964-67 One of only two players in St. John's history with more than 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds, Dove starred in the late 1960s, first under Joe Lapchick and then Lou Carnesecca. Dove currently ranks 10th all-time in St. John's history with 1,576 career points and is second all-time with 1,036 boards.
****
LeRoy Ellis, 1959-62 One of the greatest rebounders in school history, the wiry Ellis still ranks fifth all-time with 927 boards, and holds the single-season mark (16.5 in 1961-62) and single-game record (30 vs. NYU, 1961) as well. Playing for Joe Lapchick and most of his career alongside Tony Jackson, Ellis is also listed 24th on St. John's all-time scoring chart with 1,289 career points.
****
Tony Jackson, 1958-61 Arguably the most talented player in school history, Jackson, a two-time consensus All-American, is listed ninth among St. John's all-time scoring leaders with 1,603 points. He is also third on the all-time rebounding list with 991 career boards. Jackson was named the MVP of both the ECAC Holiday Festival and the Postseason NIT during his first season on the varsity team, 1958-59. His 21.1 points per game scoring average is second all-time in school history.
