Personal:Benjamin Dupree was an All-America running back at Winston-Salem State University in 1959. He was a four-year letterman, team captain and an All-CIAA selection (1957). He was a three-year starter who led the Rams in rushing yardage during the 1958 and 1959 seasons. In 1958, he scored a team high 46 points. After graduating from Winston-Salem State University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Grammar, he taught school for 36 years. He earned many accolades as an educator and coach including Teacher and Coach of the Year honors in the Kannapolis School District.
BEN IS A LEGEND IN THE CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG SCHOOL SYSTEM FOR BOTH HIS ATHLETIC COACHING AND HIS ACADEMIC STUDIES OF AFRICAN CULTURE.
