Howie Jones Class of 1955 - Induction Class of 1994
Played basketball for Virginia Union University from 1953-1955. Named MVP of the CIAA Tournament in 1954 and 1955.Served as captain of the basketball team from 1953-1955. Led VUU to two CIAA Tournament championships.

Michael Davis Class of 1969 - Induction Class of 1988
Inducted in 1988. A four year starter for VUU in basketball (1965-1969). All-Time leading scorer for VUU with 2758 points. Averaged 36.3 points per game in 1967-1968. Drafted by the Baltimore Bullets of the NBA in 1969.

Jackie Jackson Class of 1961 - Induction Class of 1994
Introduced the slam-dunk when he played for Virginia Union University from 1958-1961. Led the nation in rebounds twice (1959-1960 & 1960-1961). Averaged 24.7 rebounds in 1960-1961.

"Jumpin'" Jackie Jackson is one of the most recognizable names to come out of the storied basketball program at Virginia Union University. While at Virginia Union University, Jackson was named the CIAA's Freshman of the Year. Upon graduation, he was the 41st pick of the 1962 NBA draft by the Philadelphia Warriors. Instead of pursuing a career in the NBA, Jackson chose to play for the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. He spent one season with the Globetrotters (1963) before being drafted into the Army. After his stint with the Army, he returned to action with the Harlem Globetrotters in 1966 where he went on to spend 15 seasons with the organization and is in their Hall of Fame. Jackie is also a member of the Rucker Tournament Hall of Fame.
